HOYS ROUND UP DAY 3 – FRIDAY

Another exciting day at the Horse of the Year Show meant that the title of the Blue Chip Feed Balancer Pony Newcomers Championship was taken by fifteen year old Jasmine Cain from Sandbach, Cheshire, riding Dave Cain’s eleven year old bay gelding, Tireve Midnight Express. They beat Pippa Goddard and Edenside Blue Eyes to first place with a double clear in a fast jump off time of 39.01 seconds. Third went to Chantelle Duggan and Grangeview Iceman.

The last class of the afternoon performance was the Young Riders Championship of Great Britain which ended with the ever improving Matthew Sampson from Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Matthew, riding his own eleven year old bay gelding Chianti Classico jumped a double clear in a time of 36.70 seconds beating Joe Clayton on Saveur who also jumped clear in a time of 38.63 seconds. Third place went to Jemma Kirk riding Wexford.
