Georgie Pudge lands the Equissage Pulse Senior British Novice Second Round at Dean Valley with Lady’s Motion.

Georgie Pudge booked her place in the Equissage Pulse Senior British Novice Final at the British Showjumping National Championships on Ladys Motion with victory at Dean Valley in Cheshire.

Fifty hopefuls contended the first round of three over a 1m course and 26 found the key to go on to round two.  Only 11 jumped a second clear to contend the third and final round against the clock, Georgie finding the shortest route on the year-old Lady’s Motion to win by 2.26 seconds.

Georgie bought the Flying Tinker II x Tinkas Boy seven-year-old from breeder Martyn Edwards 12 months ago after previously buying and successfully competing Tinkers Motion, sired by Tinkers Tale, Lady’s grandsire.

It has taken Georgie almost a year to establish a firm partnership with Lady.

“I feel we are a team now,” said Georgie, who is based at her mother Sharon’s Putley Riding School in Ledbury, Herefordshire.  “I was born in a riding school and don’t even remember learning to ride, I was on ponies at a very early age.

“We have around 50 geldings in the riding school, Lady is the first mare I’ve ever owned which is why it has taken time to get to know her.  Her Uncle Tinkers Motion is very chilled but she can be temperamental and a drama queen.  She sometimes has meltdowns at the smallest thing and then she gets it and chills – my Mum says she’s not unlike me!”

Daniel May chased hard but had to settle for second and third places with Honky Cat and Double M Sensation.
