GB bring home a second & third from Vimeiro

Sunday played host to the 3* Vimeiro Grand Prix which took place in Portugal. Britain had two riders on the podium, Robert Bevis and Bruce Menzies. With twelve competitors all making it through to the jump off it was going to be a hard fought competition.
 
It was Robert Bevies from Clwyd who took second place riding Kate Mustill’s ten year old grey gelding Courtney 6. The pair jumped two foot perfect rounds in a jump off time of 44.89 seconds, a fraction of a second slower that Ireland’s M. Hughes who managed to finish on a time of 44.09 seconds.
 
Third place went to Bruce Menzies from West Sussex. Bruce rode Old Lodge’s nine year old grey gelding Sultan V who jumped another double clear in a jump off time of 46.37 seconds narrowly beating the Belgium riders by less than a second.
