Day 2: British Showjumping National Championships and Stoneleigh Horse Show

Following a fantastic first day, which set the bar extremely high at the British Showjumping National Championships and Stoneleigh Horse Show, crowds anticipated a day equally entertaining and were not disappointed.
The first competition in the Andrews Bowen Indoor Arena got off to a flying start with brilliant performances and nail-biting jump off in the Pony Restricted Rider 1.10m Championship and National 1.25m Restricted Rider Championship Final.
These classes saw the well deserving Millie Dickinson and Alex Thompson crowned champions respectively. The highlights of the day were the exhilarating Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Masters and the National Ladies’ Championship Final, both providing superior competition.
The National 4YO Championship Preliminary Round 1 launched the start of the competitive performances in Arena One today with impressive times made by all qualifiers. The preliminary rounds that followed saw fierce battles for the top spots with Millie Dickinson and Angelie Von Essen coming out on top of the National Pony 1.15m Members Cup Prelim 2 and the National 1.30m Open Championship Prelim 2.
The day ended with superb performances from competitors in the Red Horse Equestrian National 5 Year Old Championship Preliminary Round 1. Sarah Winterbottom stormed through to the next round after a spectacular performance, making it a great end to a wonderful day.
Arena Two showcased some outstanding talent in various National Championships in Preliminary Rounds today. As a result of the high level of jumping today, anticipation for the following rounds is at an all-time high.
A beautiful collection of fantastic ponies stole the show in the Grand Ring today, with show-stopping performances. With a plethora of finals taking place, the Ponies and Riders gave their all in an attempt to walk away with Championship titles. The Wright Hassall National U16 Championship Preliminary Round 1 also took place with Olivia Poole placing first after a stellar performance.
The second Preliminary rounds of the Stepping Stone Championship and the Pony British Novice Championship saw real displays of excellence following yesterday’s qualifiers in the Sankey Family Ring.
