CAPTAIN WELLINGTON
Monday 07 December 2009

Huw Jones’ showjumping superstar Captain Wellington has sadly died at the age of twenty-two.
Bred and then produced by Huw through the novice ranks, the ride on the talented bay gelding was then passed to Andrew Davies in 1998 who rode him for the following five years at some of the worlds best horse shows.
Despite his unorthodox style, Captain Wellington represented his country on eight occasions, including the winning British Nations Cup Team in Aachen in 2000, amassing in excess of £130,000 prize winnings throughout his illustrious career. He also added the world famous Millstreet World Cup title to his cv in the same year.
Captain Wellington retired to Huw’s South Glamorgan home in 2003.
