Buckinghamshire’s Jordan Lye wins the Squibb Demolition Pony Foxhunter
Monday 06 June 2011

The Hand Equestrian Centre played host at the weekend to the Pony Premier show which included the Squibb Demolition Pony Foxhunter second round. With the first three placed combinations receiving Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) qualification tickets and the first five qualifying for the Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival, it was going to be a well contested competition.
It was fifteen year old Jordan Lye from Buckinghamshire that took the top spot and the first qualifying ticket for HOYS and the Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival. Jordan partnered Colin Barnes eleven year old bay mare, Millie May III who jumped three clear rounds in a jump off time of 39.32 seconds, three seconds quicker than second placed Lorraine Lock.
Essex based Lorraine rode her mothers (Joanne) nine year old chestnut roan Authorized who was the only other combination that managed to jump three clear rounds. Although they were slightly off the time they still qualified for HOYS and the Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival.
The last HOYS qualifying ticket went to fifteen year old Jessica Mendoza from Wiltshire riding her mothers (Sarah) seven year old bay mare, Saorsie. With an unfortunate role of a pole it meant the pair finished on a score of four faults, which was just good enough to hold onto third position.
The last two Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival qualification places went to Olivia Sanford Wood riding Shafts Montego Bay and Kelly Read riding Tommie Boy II.
