BRITISH SHOWJUMPING AWARDS BALL 2012

Last night (Tuesday 2nd October 2012) saw almost 600 guests flock through the doors of the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham for the much anticipated British Showjumping Awards Ball 2012. 

This year has been a phenomenal year for British Showjumping; the highlight being when the Team Gold was secured at the London 2012 Olympic Games. During last night’s Award Ball we acknowledged just some of the sports finest moments from the last months and the evening began with a champagne reception, which was the setting for the Club League Winners presentations. This was followed by a four course meal, awards and live entertainment and the 2012 awards winners were as follows:
 
Best Pony Rider of the Year – Millie Allen from Stockton-on-Tees, Cleveland
 
Best Rider Under 21 Years (On Horses) of the Year – Chloe Aston from Tring, Hertfordshire
 
Rider’s Rider of the Year – Nick Skelton from Alcester, Warwickshire
 
International Combination of the Year – Nick Skelton & Big Star
 
Members Show Venue of the Year – Ingliston Country Club & Equestrian Centre 
 
Members Annual Show of the Year – The British Jumping Derby Meeting, Hickstead
 
International Stairway League Winner – Phillip Miller & Caritiar Z
 
Breeders Award – Ben Maher & Tripple X
 
British Showjumping Coach of the Year – Michael Jones
 
British Showjumping Members Personality of the Year – Nick Skelton
 
Outstanding Achievement & Services to Showjumping – Scott Brash, Peter Charles, Ben Maher, Nick Skelton, Lord & Lady Harris, Lord & Lady Kirkham, Tara Charles, Olga White, Emma & Mike Phillips, Beverley Widdowson, Rob Hoekstra and Di Lampard
