Bicton Arena Pony Premier Show

It was a busy weekend at Bicton Arena in Budleigh Salterton, Devon as they held their Pony Premier show which drew pony riders from all over the country to do battle for the qualification places on offer.
Pony Showjumper of the Year – Saturday 24th June 2017
Thirteen year old Elloise Smit jumped to victory on board Newtown Samson, a 15 year-old dun gelding owned by Deborah Smit. In the four horse jump-off, this partnership secured their first place finish after delivering a lightning fast double clear to cross the finish line in 45.88 seconds.
The top three went on to secure the Horse of the Year Show places available, whilst the pair in fourth took home the chance to compete at the British Showjumping National Championships.

Pony Foxhunter Second Round – Sunday 25th June 2017
After producing three strong clear rounds, 14 year-old Courtney Young from Basildon, Essex who shot into first place riding Phillip Mccaul’s 12 year-old dark bay gelding, Zucan V. This pair crossed the finish line in 46.19 seconds.
The top three combinations secured a ticket straight to October’s Pony Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show, whilst the rider and ponies placed fourth and fifth took home the chance to compete in the Pony Foxhunter Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships in August.

HOYS 128cm Qualifier – Sunday 25th June 2017
It was 8 year-old Noora Von Bulow from London who took top spot on board Sharifa Al-Homaizi’s 16 year-old grey gelding Peppino Il Grande. The pair had a pole fall at the final fence and crossed the finish line in 33.75 seconds with 4 faults.
The top three combinations took home a place in the HOYS 128cms Championship Final held at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show in October.

2nd Aimee Jones & Koda – 0/0/4 – 39.52 seconds

The Horse of the Year Show 2017 will take place from the 4th – 8th October at Birmingham’s NEC. The British Showjumping National Championships 2017 will take place during the 8th – 13th August at the National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre (NAEC), Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
