Ben Maher claims second in the Longines Grand Prix of Hamburg with Dallas Vegas Batilly

Six days after making his comeback with a second in the Rolex Grand Prix at Royal Windsor with wonder horse Explosion W, Ben Maher was again on the podium of a five-star Grand Prix in Hamburg, Germany.

Ben again had to settle for second, on this occasion riding Charlotte Rossetter and Pamela Wright’s Dallas Vegas Batilly.

Forty-four riders came forward over course-designer Frank Rothenberger’s 13-fence 1.60m track with 12 finding the key to access the jump-off.  Ben guided the Cap Kennedy x L’Arc De Triomphe Bois Margot 10-year-old into the runner-up spot 0.59 seconds behind the winner, Germany’s Gerrit Nieberg on the 12-year-old Ben.
