Area 15 Horse & Hound Foxhunter second round

The Area 15 annual show was held at Allerton Park, North Yorkshire last weekend and played host to the first Hose and Hound Foxhunter second round of the season. With the first two combinations qualifying for the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) and the top five qualifying for the Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival the competition was strong.

 

It was Buckingham based Helen Treadwell who came out on top and took the first HOYS ticket. Riding the nine year old dark brown mare Cartana Z who is owned by herself and her father Alan, Helen put in a superb round to take the win. Coming home in second place and taking the other HOYS ticket was eighteen year old Emma Stoker from North Humberside. Partnering Carron Nicol’s eight year bay gelding Wilando B this combination had also qualified for the EquestrianClearance.com Newcomers second round that was held on Sunday, where they also picked up second place.

 

The remaining Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival qualifiers were third placed Lucy Henderson from Warrington riding Michael Rowland’s eleven year old bay mare Weinbea. Fourth place went to Doncaster based Scott Smith riding Judith Studd’s eight year old bay gelding Quintus 66. And the final qualifying place went to fifth position Simon Buckley from Cumbria riding Johanna Gates’ nine year old bay gelding Vagebond VI.
