Emma Sargeant Steals the Show in Thrilling Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Masters
Thursday 07 August 2025
The atmosphere was electric at the British Showjumping National Championships as the highly anticipated Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Masters took centre stage – and it delivered all the drama, speed, and precision the crowd could hope for.
With 27 riders coming forward, the competition was fierce from the start. A demanding course whittled the field down to 16 combinations who made it through to the jump-off – and from there, it was a race against the clock.
Emerging victorious was Emma Sargeant riding the talented JOE MALONE, producing a foot-perfect clear round in 43.49 seconds. With the competition hot on her heels, Emma held her nerve under pressure to claim the win by the narrowest of margins.
Finishing in second place was Pippa Goddard on PDV CONSTANZA, who also jumped a flawless round, crossing the line in 43.62 seconds, just fractions behind the leader. Holly Smith, no stranger to the big stage, took a very close third aboard NO LIMIT D, jumping clear in 43.83 seconds to round off an exceptional podium.
The jump-off was a true test of bravery, balance, and bold riding, with just 0.34 seconds separating the top three – a testament to the high calibre of competition on display.
Having already got her HOYS ticket, when asked about her tactics going into the jump off today Emma said: "Sometimes I'm a little bit cautious about inside turns, but I just thought, there's nothing to loose, may as well have a good go."
The Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Masters once again proved to be one of the standout classes of the week, with brilliant riding and fierce competition keeping spectators on the edge of their seats. Congratulations to Emma and all the top riders on a truly thrilling class.
