Team KBIS Para Equestrian Jumping Win In La Baule, France
Monday 20 May 2013

Twenty year-old Toby Bevins from Chippenham, Wiltshire riding his and Caroline Philips’s 13 year-old chestnut gelding Askan Van Overis won the 1.10m section of the Para Equestrian Jumping classes at La Baule at the weekend. Toby jumped the only clear of the competition to secure a very popular and well deserved victory for Great Britain.
Deena Webster from Shrewsbury, Shropshire with her own 16 year-old bay gelding Matetsi finished a very credible 3rd in the 1.20m section, she was thrilled with her performance as this was the first time she had competed at that particular height.
The other riders making the trip were Louise Hacker, Ruth Slater, Alex McNamara and Karen Bostock. All put in solid performances but were just out of the ribbons. Karen was particularly unlucky, she was clear coming down to the last fence when her horse Rossini slipped causing them both to fall, neither of them were hurt, it was very unfortunate.
The next Para competition will take place at the RDA Championships at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire on July 12th 2013
