Izac Ketteridge secures first place in the SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier at Science Supplements Onley Grounds Equestrian Complex

The SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier held at Science Supplements Onley Grounds Equestrian Complex on Thursday, 5 January 2023 was won by Izac Ketteridge, riding Elisha Simmons’ Rosita VD Bisshop.

In total, 28 horse and rider combinations came forward to take on the 1.10m SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier, designed by Kevin Bull. An impressive 13 of the initial starting field produced a first-round clear. With six of those finishing on a clean sheet in the jump off, it meant that the clock would decide top spot. In the end it was fourth to jump Izac, from Dunmow, Essex, who, despite putting in an extra stride to the last fence, piloted the six-year-old bay, Rosita VD Bisshop, mare around the course for a double clear, holding off the competition with an unbeatable time of 36.02 seconds.

The SEIB Winter Novice Championship is a popular series made up of ten national qualifying rounds which are held ahead of the Championship Final, which will once again be run during the prestigious Longines Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead (25 - 30 July 2023).
