The past month had seen two new venues in Scotland run their first British Showjumping Show.
Highfield Equestrian at Howe in Fife opened their doors with a Category 2 evening show on Thursday 13th November 2014 starting a 6pm. The show had a superb turnout and the riders are delighted that the venue has opened again to British Showjumping. The venue is under new management and has put forward dates to run a variety of shows from now. Course Designer Robert Canney and Judges Mary Dryburgh and Nicola McArthur Officiated at the event and jumping continued through the evening finishing at quarter to midnight.
Ian Stark Equestrian Centre in Selkirk also ran their first every British Showjumping event on Sunday 16th November 2014. The Category 1 show ran smoothly and the riders in the area are again delighted to have a venue running British Showjumping. The Borders is an area full of horse and pony owners who have not had the indoor facilities before to meet their needs for competitions such as these. The venue will be running monthly shows from now and we are also working to start an Academy at the venue to introduce British Showjumping training to the area. The Course Designer Neil Foster and Judges Paul Chester and Kerry Browning travelled up from England for the show which proved not too far for them all to travel.
