Olivia in the Talent Pool
The British Equestrian Federation recently announced the names of Athletes that had been admitted to the Excel Talent Programme, the Sport England backed scheme which supports and develops those at the level below the UK Sport World Class system.
Amongst those named was Shrewsbury based Olivia Poole, who has had a successful career on ponies and horses, having recently represented Great Britain as part of the Team Fairfax Children on Horses Championship Team.
The Programme provides selected riders with the opportunity to have access to top equestrian specialists including: coaches, physiotherapists, psychologists, vets and nutritionists via a series of rider performance camps. Riders are expected to attend up to three 2 day training camps each year plus other one day events. Riders remain on the programme for two years providing they achieve goals and targets set as part of the programme performance review process.
