Evelina Roberts wins Blue Chip Pony Newcomers at South View

The second Summer Pony Premier of 2024, hosted by South View Equestrian, featured an exhilarating Blue Chip Pony Newcomers competition. With 78 ponies at the start, the class showcased top young talent in the equestrian world.
The first round saw 22 ponies clear the course, advancing to the second round. From there, 10 riders made it through to the jump-off, where the competition reached its peak. Of these, four riders achieved clear rounds in the jump-off.
Fifteen-year-old Evelina Roberts emerged as the winner, riding Ulrica Roberts’ Krakboom D’euro to victory with a remarkable time of 34.50 seconds. Her precision and speed outpaced the competition, securing her the top spot. In second place was PSW Pocahontas, owned by Julia Ramaci and ridden by 13-year-old Liala Ramaci, who also delivered an impressive performance, stopping the clock just 0.85 seconds slower than the winner.
Each Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round event offers the top four pony and rider combinations the chance to qualify for the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show in October. Additionally, the top eight combinations, excluding those already qualified, will earn spots in the Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships. Any pony that achieves a double clear in any of the Second Rounds also qualifies for the Masters.
