Joe Trunkfield Storms to Victory in the Events Through A Lens Talent Seeker Qualifier at Bury Farm

The penultimate Events Through A Lens Talent Seeker Incorporating the 7 Year Old Championship Qualifier of 2025 took place at Bury Farm Equestrian Centre, offering riders a chance to qualify for the Final at the Horse of the Year Show.

A strong field of 71 competitors faced the 1.30m first-round track of which 23 advanced to the jump-off and with eight jumping double clear, the placings would be determined by the clock.  In a highly competitive round that saw the top three finish within 0.83 seconds of each other, it was Joe Trunkfield who emerged victorious with Srikumar Balasubramaniyam’s Corvette VH Reukenis Z.

This marks the third HOYS qualification for Joe and the eight-year-old gelding who will also contend the Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Final and the Senior Newcomers Final.

Second place went the way of Hollie Pearce with Laura Renwick’s NFS Corluga whilst Alicia Falla slotted into third place with her own Lightning W. The highest-placed seven-year-old and qualifying for the final was Alex Bishop and his own Nadal Van’t Asbroek.
