Emma Jo Slater Shines as the 2026 Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Champion

The opening day of the British Showjumping National Championships saw Emma Jo Slater continue her incredible and consistent form as she was the crowned the 2026 Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Champion onboard Kim Barzilay’s Kimba Showtime.
The competition was fierce with 61 combinations hoping to clinch the coveted title. From the outset the championship track proved to be testing, shedding almost half of the class heading into the jump off with thirty determined combinations jumping clear to contest the final round.
A closely contested battle ensued, as the quest for the fastest time got under way. The course demanded accuracy and lightning speed which cost many combinations dearly as poles were lowered leaving just nine combinations with a clean sheet of zero faults. First to go was Emma Jo Slater with the talented ‘tiny but mighty’ six-year-old mare, Kimba Showtime who cruised around the course in deceptively fast time stopping the clock on 33.68 seconds and crucially clear. With the standard set and pressure applied many tried but failed to improve on their result, which could not be beaten by any of the 29 combinations who followed them, ultimately securing the victory.
“I was first to go in the jump-off and knew I had to go as fast as I can and hope it paid off. I thought I might get beaten by a bigger horse with a bigger stride, but they had to leave the jumps up, she was good.” Reflected Emma on the win.
Hot on the heels of Emma to take second place was Michaela Russell and Mr Overlord, who fought hard to cross the finish line clear in a nail biting 0.18 seconds behind the winning time. Completing the podium was Remy Wilson Barnes with her own Positano Termie Eurohill Z, with a valiant attempt on the time stopping the clock clear in 35.53 seconds.
Congratulations to all the competitors, and especially to our top three riders who delivered fantastic performances under pressure. The Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship continues to be a highlight of the week, showcasing rising talent and the bright future of British showjumping.
