Sam Hutton wins first U23 British Championship Qualifying Competition at Solihull Riding Club
Tuesday 04 October 2011

The first qualifying competition for the Team Murka and The World Class Programme Under 23 British Championship Final was held at Solihull Riding Club’s Development Classic Circuit Show.
The competition, which is open to riders aged 23 years or under, attracted twenty eight entries. The course built by David Cole was technical and up to height seeing only nine combinations jumping the first round clear.
Drawn half way down the order in the jump off with only one clear on the board ahead of her was sixteen year old Chloe Aston from Hertfordshire. Partnering Quainton Studs Chateau De Brion Quainton a nine year old bay stallion Chloe put in a good clear in a time of 47.53 seconds which put her in to first place.
Unfortunately the lead was soon lost when twenty two year old Sam Hutton from Southampton followed Chloe into the arena. Riding the nine year old bay Gelding Astral 57 owned by Ali Ghandour and Tony Newbery Sam also jumped clear but in a very quick time of 42.53 seconds to take the win.
Third place went to last to go Jessica Dimmock, aged eighteen from Northampton riding her mother Jackie’s nine year old gelding Capello II, jumping double clear in a time of 48.95 seconds.
