Ffion Roberts & Daniel Patrick are crowned the 2010 Stepping Stones Champions

The 128cm & 138cm Stepping Stones Championships took place last Saturday at Weston Lawns in Bulkington, Warwickshire. With a unique range of top quality Pink Equine leatherwork, including bridles and Swarovski crystal browbands on offer riders were pulling out all the stops.

The 128cm were the first of the ponies to kick off the Championship, and it was 8 year old Ffion Roberts from Clwyd who claimed the title. Ffion riding Joan Roberts’s 14 year old grey mare, Linden’s Frosty jumped 2 clear rounds in a jump off time of 34.45 seconds. Second place went to 10 year old Katie Benbow from North Humberside. Katie partnered her dad’s (Simon) 16 year old grey mare Flying Princess who jumped another double clear in a jump off time of 37.46 seconds

Next to go were the 138cm ponies. Driffield based Daniel Patrick took the championship title riding David Cain’s 9 year old grey gelding Dooneens Dream Boy. This partnership jumped a foot perfect double clear in a jump off time of 43.32 seconds. Second place went to Nottingham based Lucy Knowles riding her mum’s (Helen) 10 year old tri-coloured gelding Colour Scene. Lucy opted for the steady double clear, which paid off as no other combination managed to jump a faultless second round.
