Dodson & Horrell 0.90cm and 1.15m National Amateur Second Rounds at South View Competition & Training Centre

South View Competition & Training Centre in Winsford, Cheshire hosted two Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Rounds this weekend, a 0.90cm second round and a 1.15m second round.
The classes were held on Sunday 8th September 2013 and all of the competitors were hoping to collect one of the twelve direct qualifying places on offer for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, which take place at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 14th – 17th November 2013.
Dodson & Horrell 0.90cm National Amateur Second Round.
This second round proved to be popular, attracting a total of fifty-nine starters. From these starters, thirty-seven produced a first round clear to make it into the jump off. Twenty combinations achieved an immaculate double clear, leaving the clock to decide who the qualification places went to.
The top spot was taken by 26 year-old Jenna Watson from Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. Jenna rode Nepal De Bruce, a 12 year-old bay gelding owned by Sandra Watson and the this combination clocked the only sub 31 seconds double clear of the competition, finishing in a time of 30.91 seconds.
Ian Wynne (49) from Llangollen, Clwyd took second place with Carly Rawlinson’s 10 year-old bay mare, Penny For The Business. A quick double clear in 31.73 seconds ensured the combination a top two finish.
Third place was taken by Justine Jones from Walsall, West Midlands and she was on board her own 17 year-old chestnut gelding, Tops Secret GT. Justine produced her double clear in 31.84 seconds.
A further nine riders went to achieve their qualification for the Dodson & Horrell 0.90cm National Amateur Championship Final.

Dodson & Horrell 1.15m National Amateur Second Round.
This 1.15m second round attracted twelve starters and four of the combinations achieved the first round clear required to jump in the jump off.
Isobelle Bradley (24) from Shrewsbury, Shropshire produced the only double clear in this class, ensuring that the win belonged to her. Isobelle was on board her own 15 year-old bay mare, Renaissance II and the pair produced a superb double clear in 51.13 seconds.
In second was 36 year-old Stephanie Scott from Eccleshall, Staffordshire, who was competing on her own 8 year-old chestnut gelding, Kinheart. Stephanie and Kinheart collected an unfortunate four faults at fence seven of the jump off course, but their quick time of 44.09 seconds secured second place.
Third was taken by Nicholah Smith from Newcastle, Staffordshire on her own Dymara, a 16 year-old bay gelding. Nicholah and Dymara finished on a four fault score having also collected these at fence seven. They went to produce a time of 47.56 seconds.
One more rider also went to achieve their qualification for the Dodson & Horrell 1.15m National Amateur Championship Final.
