British Showjumping’s Veteran Squad announced for Veteran European Championship

The following Veteran squad has been selected to represent Great Britain at the FEI Jumping Veteran European Championships. The competition takes place between 11 – 15 June 2025 at the Riviera Resort, San Giovanni in Marignano, Italy.

Meet the squad:

  • James Askew, from Selby, North Yorkshire, with his own 10-year-old bay gelding, The Lieutenant
     
  • Jo Carlin, from Langley Mill, Nottinghamshire, with her own eight-year-old bay mare, Mighty Mouse D’ilena.
     
  • Anthony Clark, from Longstowe, Cambridgeshire, with his own 10-year-old bay gelding, Rempstone Toronto.
     
  • Karen Gray, from Milton Ernest, Bedfordshire, with her own 14- year-old grey gelding, Lexus Hof Ter Zeedycke.
     
  • Eve Hare, from Warrington, Cheshire, with her own 18-year-old bay gelding, Shadow IV.

The Chef d’Équipe for the Veteran Squad will be Mandy Frost.

Timetable

The Team and Individual competitions will take place on the following days:

Thursday, 12 June: Individual 1st round and Team 1st round – 16:00 local time (15:00 BST)

Friday, 13 June: Individual 2nd round and Team Final – 15:00 local time (14:00 BST)

Sunday, 15 June: Individual Final Grand Prix – 10:00 local time (09:00 BST)

Team Support

The GBR Showjumping teams are supported by the British Equestrian Federation’s World Class Programme, funded by UK Sport through the National Lottery. The Programme focuses on identifying talent, developing potential and maximising medal-winning performances on the world stage. The teams are further supported by LeMieux, who supply the teams with saddlepads.
