Kent’s Scarlett Worrow Wins the March NAF Shining Star Award

The NAF Shining Star Award for March has been given to 15-year-old Scarlett Worrow from Kent, who is a keen and committed British Showjumping Kent Junior Academy member. Scarlett has been awarded the NAF Shining Star for March 2013 because of the enthusiasm and passion that she has shown during her time as a member of her local Junior Academy.

Chris Moyce, Lead Coach for the British Showjumping Kent Junior Academy, nominated Scarlett for the NAF Shining Star Award. Chris nominated Scarlett for the following reasons “Scarlett is a keen supporter of the British Showjumping Kent Junior Academy and her latest achievements saw her and her current ride Dancing Hero qualify for the Winter JC at the Royal International Horse Show, which will be held at Hickstead in the summer.”

Scarlett has been a member with British Showjumping since 2008 and she campaigns the Showjumping circuit with 2-3 ponies at a time, notching up 79 double clears to date. Scarlett was delighted to learn that she had been awarded the NAF Shining Star Award “I got involved with the British Showjumping Kent Junior Academy because of the fantastic opportunities available to me, such as training sessions and practical horsemanship sessions. I would like to thank everyone who has been helping and supporting me, including my mum, my trainer Mark Bellinger, Julie Offen who helps me with my ponies, everyone at the Junior Academy and of course ‘Hero’. I am looking forward to competing throughout 2013, whilst hopefully gaining more qualifications alongside continuing to progress through the NAF Pony Five Star Performance Awards Programme.”

Tracey Lloyd, Marketing Manager for NAF commented “Congratulations Scarlett on your successes to date with Dancing Hero and also on being given a NAF Shining Star Award. On behalf of everyone here at NAF, we wish you the very best of luck for 2013 and we look forward to following your progress.”

The NAF Shining Star Award was introduced when NAF became a British Showjumping Business Partner. The award is for members of a Junior Academy who have shown a great deal of commitment, progression and outstanding behaviour along with their riding ability and much more. Riders are nominated by their lead coach, and then judged and awarded by NAF to one person each month.
