Houghton Hall Equestrian Centre Take Title Sponsorship of the Northamptonshire/Cambridgeshire Junior Academy

British Showjumping is pleased to announce that Houghton Hall Equestrian Centre, an equestrian centre in the East of England, has become the title sponsor for the British Showjumping Northamptonshire/Cambridgeshire Junior Academy.

Houghton Hall Equestrian Centre is owned by Mick George and it was officially opened back in 2012. Alongside Mick, Houghton Hall Equestrian Centre is also run by Jonathon Belcher and Charlotte Kane, both of whom have been involved with horses for many years.

British Showjumping has a number of Junior Academies based all over the UK and the aim is to provide progressive coaching using experienced British Showjumping Coaches. The Junior Academies combine promoting the development of riding skills and horse management with teamwork. All British Showjumping Pony and Pony Associate members are eligible to join the Junior Academies up until the December after their 21st birthday.

Jonathon Belcher & Charlotte Kane, Director's at Houghton Hall Equestrian Centre said of the announcement “We are very pleased to be a part of the Northamptonshire/ Cambridgeshire Junior Academy and we are also keen to support the Junior British Showjumping, and watch it grow in the Cambridgeshire Area."

Rachel Stevenson, British Showjumping East Development Officer and Ruth Tyler, British Showjumping East Midlands Development Officer commented “We are delighted that Houghton Hall Equestrian Centre are sponsoring the Northamptonshire/Cambridgeshire Junior Academy and we look forward to working together to continue providing regular training for the academy riders. This academy is currently working towards ‘Clubmark’ status and this additional funding will help us to provide a wider education and wider range of activities.”
