Patricia Parsons (September 1950 – January 2026)

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Patricia Parsons, or Pat as some may have known her, in January 2026, a longstanding and much-valued member of British Showjumping. 

Pat had been a member since 1985 and, over the years, dedicated an enormous amount of time and commitment to supporting the sport. Prior to this, she served as Secretary of the Berkshire Show (Area 38) in 1982, demonstrating her early dedication to the showjumping community. She went on to fulfil a number of important roles within British Showjumping, including serving as a judge, Area Representative and steward, and was widely respected for her professionalism, knowledge and steadfast support of members at every level. 

Beyond her work within British Showjumping, Pat was also heavily involved with the Windsor Park Equestrian Club, where she served as Treasurer and Secretary for many years, contributing greatly to the strength and success of the club. 

In recognition of her dedication, Pat was presented with an award to show jumping services at the British Showjumping Awards Ball in 2003, and in 2007 she was granted Honorary Life Membership – a fitting tribute to her many years of loyal service and contribution to the sport. 

We are extremely grateful for all that Pat gave to British Showjumping and to the wider showjumping community. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.
