Congratulations to triple regional points league winner, Sophie Corney!

A special mention to 15 year old, Scunthorpe based rider, Sophie Corney who is to be awarded for her outstanding achievements at the British Showjumping Awards Ball to be held on 28 October at the Hilton Metropole, NEC.

 

British Showjumping competitors have been picking up points across the country at Intro shows hoping to top the leader board for their region, Sophie Corney has managed to win three sections of this competition: Junior 1m, 90cm and 80cm.

 

Sophie’s interest in horses stems from her spending hours with her Mum and Grandad at horse shows and her riding

 

career started at the age of 4 when her Grandad came home with a pony from the York Horse Sales. Sophie spent hours learning to ride with her Mum and Grandad and attended local gymkhanas and competed in games/lead rein jumping

 

 

 

Sophie was extremely competitive at the local competitions, winning lots of classes from the age of 7, despite

competing against riders who were a lot older than her! Sophie joined British Showjumping at the age of 10 and has gradually progressed from competing at 70cm level up to 1.10m.
