Nominees for ‘International Combination of the Year’ announced

Ben Maher & Tripple X III, Nick Skelton & Carlo, Robert Smith & Talan have all been nominated as the International Combination of the Year; the winner of which will be announced at the British Showjumping Awards Ball.
 
Ben Maher and Tripple X III have been members of the Bronze medalling Senior European Championship team, the pair have shown that they have got what it takes to get to the top. At only nineyear old Tripple X III is enjoying his first season at top international level and the combination have proved themselves as ones to watch as it has progressed. Staying cool under pressure the combination were vital to Britain’s success at the Championships in addition to the 5* FEI Nation Cup in Rotterdam where the team came second. Ben jointly owns Tripple X III with Quainton Stud.
 
Nick Skelton and Carlo became both Team and Individual Bronze medallists at the 2011 Senior European Championships. This combination have shown what a true class act they are and how they are now feared by all on the international circuit. At only ten years old Beverley Widdowson’s Carlo is one of the most talented and highly respected horses competing at global level. Nick and Carlo were members of five FEI Nation Cups, of which the team brought home two seconds along with a first place podium finish following their outstanding triple clear performance in Dublin.
 
Robert Smith and Talan are an outstanding and ‘class’ combination who have proved their worth this year. Jumping on five FEI Nation Cups including Dublin where they played a key part in assuring Great Britain’s first place success, the combination have also won the Ascona Grand Prix along with coming second in the world famous King George V Gold Cup in addition to numerous top placings across Europe. Talan is a horse Robert jointly owns with Di & Pennie Cornish.
The Awards Ball will take place on Friday 28th October and you are always assured a fun evening where after a four course meal and the awards ceremony you can party until the early hours.  Hosted at the Hilton Metropole, NEC, Birmingham in the fabulous Monarch Suite it is always a night not to be missed
