Bedfordshire’s young showjumper Georgia Sims is September’s NAF Shining Star

Georgia Sims, aged 11 from Dunstable, Bedfordshire has been rewarded with the accolade of NAF Shining Star for September on account of the determination and talent that she has displayed during her time as a member of the British Showjumping Central Junior Academy.

 

Georgia was nominated for the NAF Shining Award by Mandy McGlynn, Lead Coach for Central Junior Academy and Mandy had the following to say about her nominee “Georgia joined British Showjumping a couple of years after first attending a couple of Junior Academy training sessions. During those sessions, it became evident that Georgia is a talented young lady and a natural on both horses and ponies. This year, she represented the academy on three different teams and she has achieved some great results. She is a great asset to our academy, always wanting to learn and always willing to help.”

 

When told of her win, a thrilled Georgia said “I’m so excited to have won this award as I’ve been working hard to gain my 1*, 2* and 3* [of the NAF Pony Five Star Performance Awards Programme]. I love my horses and ponies and will spend the rest of this year aiming to gain my double clears at both Newcomers and Foxhunter level on my horse Champagne De Leau and pony Fairfax Hot Hottie.”

 

In recognition of her win, Georgia will receive some NAF equine products to use alongside the supplements she currently uses which include Superflex for her ponies and horses joints.

 

NAF Brand Manager, Griselda Handy, commented “Although Georgia is still only young, it is evident that she is clearly naturally talented. A well-deserved accolade for Georgia is the NAF Shining Star Award and we are sure there will be many more achievements for her in the years to come. Well done!”

 

The NAF Shining Star Award was introduced when NAF became a British Showjumping Business Partner. The award is for members of a Junior Academy who have shown a great deal of commitment, progression and outstanding behaviour along with their riding ability and much more. Riders are nominated by their lead coach, and then judged and awarded by NAF to one person each month.
