Lucy Gilsenan Gets the Win in the Dodson & Horrell 0.85m National Amateur Second Round at Holmside Hall

Lucy Gilsenan from Scarborough, North Yorkshire won the well fought out Dodson & Horrell 0.85m National Amateur Second Round at Holmside Hall in County Durham on Saturday and in doing so, she beat fifteen other challengers to that top spot.
All eyes were focused on the twelve qualifying places that were up for grabs for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships. The Championships will be held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool between the 16th – 20th November.
Lucy headed the twelve horse jump off on board her own 13 year-old bay gelding Ballybane Tulira. Drawn to go at the latter stages of the jump off, Lucy and Ballybane Tulira bagged yet another confident clear and their pace was such that they came through the finish in just 31.16 seconds.
Second place went to Stephanie Green from Houghton Le Spring, Tyne and Wear and she took her place inside the top two on her own 6 year-old dun gelding Bennekerry Lad. This combination produced an immaculate double clear in 31.99 seconds.
Third place was taken by Elaine Farrant from York, North Yorkshire and she delivered her podium place on her own 11 year-old brown mare Ripley. They secured their double clear in 38.40 seconds.
