Rikki Gradley wins The British Showjumping Business Partnership Winter Novice Qualifier at the College Equestrian Centre.
Thursday 27 October 2011
The College Equestrian Centre in Bedfordshire held a Development Classic Show over the weekend which saw another very competitive British Showjumping Business Partnership Winter Novice Qualifier.
Drawn eight to go in the twenty horse jump off Buckingham based Emma McGlynn knew she had to put the pressure on the remaining competitors. Riding her mother Mandy’s five year old bay gelding Nikolai II Emma did just that jumping clear in a time of 34.59 seconds.
Emma managed to hold on to the lead until with only five competitors left to go Rikki Gradley from Ipswich came into the arena riding his own five year old grey mare Calakonda. Jumping a superb clear in a time of 33.43 seconds pushed Emma into second place and proved good enough to give Rikki the win.
Both the above combinations have qualified for the British Showjumping Business Partnership Winter Novice Championship which will take place at the Royal International Horse Show, Hickstead between 17th and 22nd July 2012.
