Port Royal Equestrian Centre Pony Premier Show

Pony riders from all over the country came together at Port Royal Equestrian Centre in Holme on Spalding Moor, York for the Pony Premier Show last weekend. With talented ponies and riders all vying for the qualification places on offer, it proved to be a fabulous two days of competitive showjumping.
Pony Showjumper of the Year – Saturday 8th July 2017
Fifteen year-old Tahnia Jordan Jones from Swindon, Wiltshire scooped up first place riding AKM Beech Comber, a 12 year-old dark bay gelding owned by Tania Andrews. This pair proved their form as they produced the only clear to claim the win after just one round in 80.21 seconds.
The top three went on to secure the Horse of the Year Show places available, whilst the pair in fourth took home the chance to compete at the British Showjumping National Championships.

Pony Foxhunter Second Round – Sunday 9th July 2017
Tahnia Jordan Jones continued her winning form as she was victorious on board Jumper, an 11 year-old grey gelding owned by Julie Jordan. In the eleven strong jump off, this pair crossed the finish line on an immaculate treble clear in just 34.93 seconds.
The top three combinations secured a ticket straight to October’s Pony Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show, whilst the riders and ponies placed fourth and fifth took home the chance to compete in the Pony Foxhunter Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships in August.

HOYS 128cm Qualifier – Sunday 9th July 2017
Tia Squibb, aged 10, from Brentwood, Essex topped the leader board with Gorm and Ban, a 16 year-old coloured gelding owned by Sarah Squibb. In a close eight pony jump off this pair produced a treble clear and finished in an unbeatable time of 36.91 seconds.
The top three combinations took home a place in the HOYS 128cms Championship Final held at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show in October.

2nd Madeleine Archibold & My Little Sweetheart – 0/0/0 – 49.78 seconds
3rd Henry Squibb & Pussy Cat Doll – 0/0/4 – 41.02 seconds

The Horse of the Year Show 2017 will take place from the 4th – 8th October at Birmingham’s NEC. The British Showjumping National Championships 2017 will take place during the 8th – 13th August at the National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre (NAEC), Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
