Mark Edwards flies to Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round victory at Bridgend Show

A determined field took on the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Bridgend Show on Saturday and it was Mark Edwards who delivered a clean treble clear for first place.

With the pressure on to secure a place in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final, which will be held during the British Showjumping National Championships in August, the battle for a qualification place progressed until just six horse and rider combinations remained to go head to head against the clock in the final jump off.

Riding Flying Tinker II, a 6 year-old dark bay gelding owned by Martyn Edwards, straight in to first place was Mark Edwards from Cowbridge, South Glamorgan. Over the jump off course and from a late draw, this pair picked up the pace to stop the clock with a treble clear in 40.24 seconds.

India Sime from Haverfordwest, Dyfed jumped in to second place on board her own 4 year-old grey mare, Midnight Millie Bee. This combination put in a strong challenge to cross the finish line in 42.38 seconds.

Taking home third place and the final treble clear of the class was Samantha John from Carmarthen, Dyfed riding her own 5 year-old bay mare, NPS Florida. This combination left all the fences standing in a time of 45.81 seconds.

A total of three combinations will now go forward to the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final.
