Laura Renwick & Lara Whiteway shine in Spain

We had British riders flying the flag in Spain over the weekend at the CSI 2* Mijas show.
Thirty-eight starting combinations came forward in the 1.45m Master Tour Grand trying to get their share of the €30,000 prize pot on hand. With seven riders making it through to the jump off, it was British rider Laura Renwick (40) from Maldon Essex partnering Rembrandt Blue a 10 year-old grey gelding owned by David Rogers that took the lion share after jumping double clear in a time of 34.22 seconds just over half a second quicker than Germany’s Andreas Brenner on Cronos 17 and third place went to Italy’s Luca Maria Moneta on Jesus De La Commune.
In the 1.30m Premier Tour Grand Prix, it was another British win with Lara Whiteway (20) from Preston, Lancashire on board her own and her mother Sharon’s 11 year-old bay gelding Bellagio II Taking the lion share of the €1,500 prize pot on offer. Lara had over a whole second in hand ahead of French riders Laura Pastre Chauveau with Quannele De Vallet and Florent Jeannin and Ratina De Jarsay.
