Hannah Wright Wins Dodson & Horrell 0.95m National Amateur Second Round at Blue Barn Equestrian Centre

The Dodson & Horrell 0.95m National Amateur Second Round held at Blue Barn Equestrian Centre in Ashford, Kent was won by Hannah Wright from Heathfield, East Sussex after she produced a quick double clear on board Racheal 55, an 8 year-old chestnut mare owned by Angela Wright.

The show, organised by SMP EVENTS, saw competitors come forward for the class with the sole aim of qualifying for next month’s Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, which take place at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool (18th – 22nd November 2015). 

Thirteen combinations posted a first round clear to give them a place in the jump off and six double clears were produced overall. The fastest of these double clears was delivered by Hannah and Racheal 55 and spectators saw them leave all the poles in their cups whilst crossing through the finish in 31.34 seconds.

Seventeen year-old Harlee Pendergast from Eltham, London secured a double clear on board his own 17 year-old bay gelding Beamer. This combination got closest to the winners after securing their second clear round in 32.64 seconds. 

Hollie Leatham from Charlton, London took third with her own 7 year-old bay mare Irish Red Ruby. They produced their double clear in 33.30 seconds.
