Paris GUCCI Masters (Fra) CSI 5*
On Saturday 1st December, a strong field of 40 combinations competed in the Trophee Salon Du Cheval, Ceneca 1m50. A total of 12 made it into the Jump Off and British rider Ben Maher, with his and Helen Wang’s 8 year-old chestnut gelding Aristo Z, was placed 2nd with a double clear in a time of 34.27 seconds. Ben was only just pipped into second place by France’s Simon Delestre on his nine year old mare Whisper. This combination achieved their double clear in 34.02 seconds. In third was Ireland’s Denis Lynch and he rode Abbervail Van Het Dingeshof.

Stockholm (Swe) CSI 3*
Competition in Stockholm was fierce and the British riders were out in force. John Whitaker, Robert Whitaker and Scott Brash were in competition at each day of the CSI 3* show.

Friday saw John Whitaker take top place in the 1m45 2 phase class with his own and Clare Whitaker’s 10 year-old stallion, Argento. The combination produced their double clear in a time of 53.36. Robert Whitaker was also in the same class and he went on to secure 5th place on board Mandy Hall’s 11 year-old bay stallion USA Today with a clear and time of 53.32 seconds.

Robert enjoyed more success on the Friday with Mandy Hall’s 9 year-old bay gelding Waterstone II. Robert finished 3rd in the 1m40 2 phase class with a clear and a time of 47.56 seconds. Scott Brash riding Lady Kirkham and Lady Harris’s 13 year-old brown gelding Hello Intertoy Z finished just behind Robert with a clear and a time of 49.42 seconds.

Scott was in action again on Hello Intertoy Z on the Saturday in the Volkswagen Cup 1m50. The combination made it through to the Jump Off and finished on a total of 4 faults in 57.85 seconds.
On Saturday, John was in action on board 8 year-old brown gelding Lord of Arabia, owned by Old Lodge. The pair competed in the 1m40 2 phase class and finished in 3rd on a zero fault score in 48.13 seconds. Robert Whitaker with Waterstone II was also competing in Saturday’s 1m40 2 phase class and they finished in 8th with 9 faults and a time of 44.37 seconds.

John was once again on board Lord of Arabia for Sunday’s 1m40 class and on this occasion, they finished in 5th with a double clear in 56.89 seconds.

The competition at Stockholm culminated with the 1m50 Grand Prix in which John Whitaker and Argento finished in 9th and Scott and Hello Intertoy Z finished in 11th.

Neeroeteren (Bel) CSI 2*
The Grand Prix proved to be successful for Joseph Clee riding his own 8 year-old bay stallion Utamaro D’Ecasussines as he was placed 2nd with a double clear and a time of 37.92 seconds.

Wellington, Florida (USA) CSI 2*
Tim Gredley and Unex Competition Yard Ltd’s 9 year–old bay gelding Unex Omelli were placed 10th in the Grand Prix FEI World Cup.
 
Barcelona I (Esp) CSI 1*
Great Britain beat off the rest of the competition to hold the top two placings in the Grand Prix. Grace Barton with her own 13 year-old chestnut gelding Simon Bontje took the top spot with a double clear and a time of 34.02 seconds. Louise Saywell with her father Michael’s 9 year-old grey mare Winner IV came second with a double clear and a time of 35.28 seconds.

Budapest (Hun) CSI 2*
Only 40 combinations qualified for Sunday’s 1m50 Grand Prix and young rider Chloe Aston finished 2nd on board her own 10 year-old bay gelding Kolibri Classic.
