BRITISH SHOWJUMPING CLUB LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS

British Showjumping Club Leagues will be strengthened for 2014 with a high profile North and South Club Championships, which will take place at the tail end of the summer season .
With four of the eight regions being allocated to each of the two Championships, this will allow for Club Members to also enjoy a true Championship experience similar to those contesting National Finals.
Club Membership is specifically for members competing between 70cm – 1m with a focus on league points rather than prize money and qualification for national finals. There are four Leagues within each of these height brackets (for both Horses and Ponies) within each region; with a total of eight regions spanning the length and breadth of the country.
The new North and South Club Championships will now allow Club Members to not only focus on heading their regional League table within the height category they are comfortable in, but to also aim on qualifying for their respective Championships and claiming the title as their own.
North & South Championships
Each of the two Championships will host four Club Championships for those on ponies and four Club Championships for those on horses. The four height categories for both ponies and horses will be 70cm, 80cm, 90cm and 1m.
Four regions will be allocated to the North Championships and four regions to the South Championships as follows:
North: Scotland, Northern, Wales, West Midlands
South: East Midlands, Eastern, South East, South West
Club members whom head their league based on points accrued between 1st June – 31st May each year will be acknowledged during the Club Leagues Prize Giving Ceremony which takes place at the British Showjumping Awards Ball in October at the Hilton Metropole, NEC, Birmingham.
Club Membership is just £30 per annum for both horse and rider and has proven to be extremely popular for those wishing to compete within a club environment or perhaps using it as a stepping stone before deciding to progress as a national member. Club Membership also allows for full member benefits including access to the incredibly successful Academy structure and training programmes in addition to enjoying £30m public liability cover along with the reassurance that members will be competing across properly designed courses and within a safe and structured environment.
