Monday 20 February 2012

Through the continued and generous support of Team Murka, the Team Murka and the World Class Programme U23 British Showjumping Championship Series and Final will carry a total prize fund of over £20,000 for 2012 as well as Training Vouchers and a Style Prize.
Olga White, on behalf of Team Murka commented; "Team Murka is pleased to increase the level of prize money for the Team Murka and WCP Under 23 Championships to support the development of the next generation of British Showjumping. The Final for these Championships at Olympia provides the atmosphere, excitement and difficulties that they will meet and need to overcome on the senior circuit. Dan Neilson showed real talent and professionalism in winning the final in 2011 and clearly demonstrated what is required to achieve at senior level. We look forward to seeing even more in the 2012 Final."
Will Connell, Equestrian Performance Director commented; “The Team Murka and World Class Programme Under 23 Championships has established itself as an essential barometer of the developing showjumping talent in Great Britain. With the support of Team Murka we have been able to support a series of qualifiers that culminate in a high profile final at Olympia, The London International Horse Show. We are extremely grateful for the support of Team Murka whose ethos and aims fits very neatly with the principle that underpin the Lottery and Exchequer funding we receive from UK Sport.”
World Class Performance Manager, Rob Hoekstra commented; “The Team Murka and World Class Programme Under 23 Series and Final at Olympia is vital for the future of our sport. It will help us to bridge the gap between the Younger generation and the established top riders. It allows up and coming riders to gain experience over courses and compete for good prize money which they would otherwise only meet at International Shows abroad. We are very fortunate to have Team Murka and World Class supporting our future stars by sponsoring this series.”
The first qualifying competition for the 2012 Championship Final took place at Ingleston House in December 2011 and was won by James Hughes riding his own Peiter VI.
The second and third qualifiers will take place at Arena UK (25 February) and Hand Equestrian Centre, (17 March), with The Championship Final taking place at the London International Horse Show, Olympia in December.
