George wins 40,000€ Grand Prix

19 year-old George Whitaker that took the number one spot in the Maubeuge 40,000€ Grand Prix on Sunday night. Based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire George and his long standing partner Tubana which is owned by Sally McSharry jumped one of only four double clears round the 1.50m track. Completing in a jump off time on 46.50 seconds, 0.49 seconds fast than Regis Villain earnt George and Tubana the first place prize fund. Cousin Louise Whitaker was also in the line up finishing in 8th position, followed by Laura Renwick in 9th and Tim Stockdale in 10th.
 
Guy William, Laura Renwick and Tim Stockdale were also spotted on the winner podium earlier on in the week.
 
Guy was the first of the Brits to take a win in the 1.35 Prix Canal FM class. The Kent based Showjumper partnered his Hickstead Derby ride Skip Two Ramiro who is jointly owned by David Walker and Softrack Surface.
 
Essex based Laura Renwick was the next to make an appearance coming 1st and 2nd in the 1.40m Prix Scierie Parmentier. 1st place went to Limelight de Breve a horse Laura jointly owns with husband John and 2nd place went to Parvati de Breve owned by Julia Biddle. Later in the day also saw Laura and Parvati de Breve come =1st in the 6 bar competition with fellow British rider Tim Stockdale. Sunday brought Laura more success by replicating the previous day’s results coming 1st and 2nd in a 1.35m on both Limelight de Breve (1st) and Parvati de Breve (2nd)
 
Making a fantastic recovery from his injury sustained back in 2011 Northampton based Tim Stockdale also found himself on the winners podium sharing 1st place in the 6 bar competition. Tim partnered Janet Cosgrove’s Fresh Direct K2.
