Sixteen year old Lara Whiteway from Preston had a tremendous day taking two Championship finals at Tuesdays Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival of Show Jumping.
 
Lara was the first Championship winner on Tuesday at
 
 
, her first triumph came in the Mandy Hall National Pony 1.15m Members Cup Championship. From 31 starters, 17 combinations jumped clear and went through to the jump off. Lara, riding the former dressage pony International Playboy, whom the family has owned for four years was eleventh to go in this hotly contested jump off, setting a cracking pace, finishing the round in 29.93 seconds. This is Lara’s final year in pony classes and she was absolutely thrilled with the result.
 
Her second victory of the day followed shortly after, this time in a horse class taking the Children on Horses Championship in fine style riding the families Zam Zara. The combination proved unbeatable, third to go in the jump off, nobody else came close to their time set at 27.01 seconds.
 
The George Babes Young Riders B & C Championship produced 10 clears from 31 starters. The fifth combination to go in the jump of was Timothy Wilks and Billy Pop, producing the first clear in an excellent time of 36.97 seconds, however Felix McCartney riding Evamore managed to clip a fraction off the time to clinch the championship coming home in a winning time of 36.78 seconds.
 
The final Championship of the day, the Katherine James 1m Championship took place in front of a packed house, thirteen combinations went through to the jump off, Emma Jo Slater riding Rembrandt Blue proving the eventual winners in a time of 25.81 seconds.
