British riders selected for Under 25 International Competition at the FEI European Championships

Following an invitation to compete in the Lövsta Future Challenge International Competition at the FEI European Championships 2017 in Gothenburg, Sweden, the following two athletes will represent Great Britain.

Jessica Dimmock, aged 23, from Hannington, Northamptonshire with Cassius Clay, an 11 year-old bay gelding owned by Ronnoco Jump Ltd

Tim Wilks, aged 22, from Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire with Quelbora Merze, a 13 year-old chestnut gelding owned by In Showjumpers

Lövsta Future Challenge and the FEI European Championships in Gothenburg 2017 have created a new concept of international competitions for young riders which will premiere at this month’s FEI European Championships in Gothenburg. The top U25 riders from the leading nations in showjumping are invited to compete, individually as well as in teams, and a total of 20 showjumping riders from 10 nations will jump.

There are a number of classes in the Under 25 programme and the riders will have the opportunity to ride in the main arena, the Ullevi Stadium. This will be the first time that Under 25 riders in showjumping will have their own international classes during a European Championship.

The Under 25’s will first jump on Thursday 24th August at 19.15 hrs local time before taking part in their team competition on Saturday 26th August at 08.45 hrs local time. The Grand Prix will take place on Sunday 27th August at 10.30 hrs local time.
