Dan Neilson wins in Porto

Last week saw twenty year old Dan Neilson travel to Portugal with a string of horses for the CSI3* International Show.

On Friday, Dan topped the leader board in the 1.40m class while riding James Kernan’s eleven year old bay gelding Flaming Star. The pair showed their class by jumping two foot perfect rounds in a jump off time of 35.18 seconds, a fraction faster than the Netherlands Leopold Van Asten who also jumped a double clear in a jump off time of 35.60 seconds.

Dan then went on to compete in the BPI Masters which was a €10,000 1.45m class. Riding Peter Ward’s 13 year old bay mare Milena 8 Dan showed his class once again by jumping four clear rounds in a jump off time of 30.42 seconds. Unfortunately this was just off  Roger Yves Bost’s time for France as he completed the jump off in a 28.17 seconds putting Dan in second place.
