Box Office opens for Royal Windsor Horse Show 2011

Tickets for Royal Windsor Horse Show (11-15 May 2011), held in the private grounds of Windsor Castle, will go on sale 2nd November.

The Show, now in its 68th year is the first major outdoor Show of the season and is the only annual event that allows visitors access to Her Majesty The Queen’s private grounds.

One of the largest outdoor equestrian Shows in the UK, with over 3000 horses and ponies taking part in over 250 classes, the 2011 Show features top class competition including Jumping, International Carriage Driving and Showing along with some popular displays and features such as The Shetland Pony Grand National, The Pony Club Mounted Games and The Best Turned out Trooper.

Royal Windsor Horse Show attracts riders of all ages and disciplines, from Team GBR competitors to grass roots riders who have qualified through the AmTrust Equine RWHS British Riding Clubs Championships, supported by PONY and Horse & Rider Magazines.

Royal Windsor Horse Show is also home to over 200 shops where you can find everything from horsewear, to jewellery and crafts as well as a fantastic food and drink festival. Brand new this year is The Eco Village, where exhibitors will be showcasing the latest sustainable products.

On the evenings of the Horse Show, and now in its fourth year is The Windsor Castle Royal Tattoo. This outstanding evening of military entertainment is a not-for-profit event supporting the Royal British Legion, raising funds to help soldiers and their dependants, who have served in operations such as Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Windsor Castle Royal Tattoo includes ceremonial displays and military bands, but is choreographed to show the modern military’s capabilities in a tattoo environment, through arena action displays. One of the many highlights is a tribute to the Royal Navy Field Gun competition, last seen in its full format at The Royal Tournament in 1999.
