National Para Equestrian Club Championships
Monday 03 August 2020
The National Para Equestrian Championships took place yesterday in the Castle arena at the NAF Five Star British Showjumping Championships held at Bolesworth. Once again, all competitors showcased their talent, determination and commitment for the sport by posting impressive results. The Championship consisted of three titles which were awarded to their respective grades of Grade II and III for both Junior and Senior competitors.
The first Championship was the Senior 80cm Para Grade II competition which was won by Laura Goodall from Oswestry, Shropshire. Laura piloted her own 9 year-old grey mare, Guusje to the top spot. The pair produced an effortless double clear in 45.10 seconds.
Florence England from Horncastle, Lincolnshire took the Junior 80cm Para Grade III title. Florence was aboard Lindy Robertson’s Muckrim Eamonn Ban, a 9 year-old grey gelding whom Florence has partnered to victory in this class for three consecutive years. They came home in 45.07 seconds and were quick enough to take the win despite rolling a pole in the jump-off.
Skegness based Evie Toombes and her own 17 year-old chestnut mare High Offley Business Centre reigned triumphant in the Senior 90cm Para Grade III competition. The combination produced an impeccable round to finish on a double clear in 51.94 seconds.
