Joss Phillipps secures the National 1.10m Pony Restricted Rider Championship
Wednesday 05 August 2020
It was a two-strong jump off for the National 1.10m Pony Restricted Rider Final at the NAF Five Star British Showumping Championships this afternoon between Joss Phillipps and Olivia Davison who were the only two to jump clear in the first round.
First to come forward into the stunning moat-surrounded arena at Bolesworth was 13 year-old Joss from Loughborough in Leicestershire with the 9 year-old grey gelding Rockmount Casper. Laying down the gauntlet by putting down a foot-perfect and blistering fast round in a time of 42.56 seconds it certainly loaded the pressure on 14 year-old Olivia from Chester-le-Street, Country Durham.
For Olivia, who initially set off well with the 10 year-old gelding Sir Fancy Pants it was an unfortunate stop at a turn back to the water tray that saw her pick up 4 penalties and slip into 2nd place behind Joss. 3rd place went to Poppy Bladon and Glenagross Footprint.
The NAF Five Star British Showjumping Championships run between 3 – 11 August at Bolesworth and further information on the show can and full results can be found by visiting https://bit.ly/3fqDsmX
