Guy Williams claims Grand Prix win by 100th of a second

Monday 24 February 2020

It was a win for Guy Williams and the 12 year-old bay Cicero II in the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour, Portugal, on Sunday when he claimed pole position by 100th of a second over fellow GB rider Laura Renwick. With both riders well known for being fast and hard competitors to come up against in a jump-off it was a thrilling final round that they both put in which saw Laura and the 9 year-old bay Arkuga miss out by the narrowest of margins.

As two of only four combinations who achieved a double clear from the entire field, it was both Guy and Laura that flew the flag for Great Britain whilst Laszlo Toth (HUN) and Adir Dias de Abreu (POR) took 3rd and 4th place respectively more than two seconds behind Guy’s time of 35.35 seconds.
