John Whitaker 2nd in CSI3* Vilamoura Grand Prix

It was a 2nd place finish for John Whitaker with  the 11 year-old bay Sharid, owned by HH Prince Torki bin Mohammed Al Saud, in the CSI3* Grand Prix in Vilamoura, Portugal this afternoon.

The starting field of forty-three combinations were whittled down to twelve for the jump-off with only six of them achieving another clear to match their first.   It was Kim Emmen (NED) with Jack van het Dennehof that took the win with his clear in 38.26 seconds with John hot on his heels to take 2nd in 39.81.

3rd went to Yuri Mansur (BRA) with Vitiki having broken the finish line clear in 40.20 whilst Andreas Schou (DEN) and Darc de Luz took 4th.  The next highest placed Brit was Douglas Duffin aboard Linares BG who, having made it through to the jump off, slid down into 11th place when they touched a pole.
