Leicestershire Junior Academy Launch
Wednesday 24 August 2011
The Leicestershire junior academy launch was held on Tuesday 23rd August at Fir Tree Stud, Lutterworth.
16 junior riders took part in the action packed day. Activities included a coaching session with British Showjumping coach, Michael Jones working on the flat only to ensure that all the riders had the basics in place! Physio sessions looking at balance and core stability off the horses, a demonstration from Michael on two of his horses, team building games and a BBQ!
Each rider was also given a logbook and information pack to take away with them!
A British Showjumping lead rope and whip was also awarded to the rider who had made the most contribution in the coaching session! Prizes will be awarded to one rider at every academy training and will be decided by the coach on the day!
Monthly academy sessions will now take place. the next proposed training dates will be 17 September, 15 October, 19 November and 28 December.
Thank you to everyone who made this day such a success especially Michael Jones, Amanda Cornforth and the Leicestershire Committee. If you are interested in joining in with future sessions please let Ruth Tyler know! (email@example.com)
