Strangles Outbreak in North Wales - Maelor Equestrian Centre

Wednesday 30 March 2016

Maelor Equestrian Centre has cancelled all activities, including shows and training until 17th April.  This date may change if more cases of Strangles are confirmed in the area.

Maelor have not taken this decision lightly, but with numerous yards being confirmed with Strangles, owners continuing to move horses and compete, they are unwilling to allow their competitors to become at risk from this disease.

They hope the outbreak will be contained soon, so that they can enjoy the future shows they have planned.  Maelor apologise for any inconvenience this has caused, but feel they  need to take responsibility in preventing their own horses and visiting horses becoming infected.
