SPECIAL RULES RELATING TO THE QUALIFYING COMPETITIONS FOR ‘THE TEAM MURKA AND THE WORLD

RULES
ELIGIBILITY:
Open to horses in grades A & B to be ridden by Adult, Associate or Pony Associate members whose 23rd birthday falls on or after 1st January 2011 (for the qualifier held 2011) or after 1st January 2012 (for qualifiers held in 2012) To compete in the Final at Olympia qualified horses must be grade A at the closing date of entries. Only those riders currently eligible for British Team Selection will be awarded League Points.
To ensure consistency competitors must be using the correct tack, as listed in the FEI Rule Book. FEI anti doping regulations apply.

Speed: 350 mp
Height of fences: 1.45m May include up to 3 single fence verticals at a maximum height of 1.50m

Minimum first Prize £550 + £200 Training Voucher (£1050 of the total prize fund and Training Vouchers Kindly sponsored by Team Murka and the BEF World Class Programme (Funded by Lottery & Exchequer Funding through UK Sport.)
Training vouchers for 2nd to 6th place at qualifiers as follows: 2nd- £125, 3rd- £100, 4th- £100, 5th- £100, 6th- £100
Training vouchers can only be awarded to riders currently eligible for British Team Selection.

The Team Murka and The World Class Programme U23 British Championship Final 2012 to be held at Olympia (£15,300 Prize Fund plus Training Vouchers & Style Award)

NUMBERS TO QUALIFY: A MAXIMUM OF 24 RIDERS WILL QUALIFY FOR THE FINAL AT OLYMPIA.
The Five horse/rider combinations that represent Team GBR at the 2012 European Young Rider Championships will qualify
by right. Further horse/rider combinations will qualify, based on points accumulated from the horse/riders combination's best four results from the six qualifiers, so that the total of qualified rider/horse combinations, including the Young RIder horse/rider combinations, does not exceed a maximum of 22. (See full special rules in schedule in case of equality of points)
In addition to the maximun of 22 horse/rider combinations qualified through the above process, two Wild Card qualification places will be awarded. The number of Wild Cards selections will be increased only if required to fill the quota of 24 places at the final. The decision on the Wild Cards will be made by the World Class Programme Performance Manager for Showjumping.

Points towards qualification will be awarded to each horse/rider combination according to their placing in each of the qualifying competitions as follows:
1st - 40 points, 2nd - 30 points, 3rd - 25 points, 4th - 20 points, 5th - 15 points,
6th - 10 points, 7th - 8 points, 8th - 6 points, 9th - 4 points, 10th - 2 points

In the case that any qualified horse/rider combination declines to compete at Olympia the next rider, providing they are not on an equal placing result, according to the qualification points system may, at the discretion of the Organisers and BEF, may be invited to replace the withdrawn rider. The number of horse/rider combinations competing at the final will not exceed 24.
All those qualified to compete in the final will be required to confirm their intention to compete at Olympia, by payment of the appropriate entry fee which must arrive with the Show Secretary together with the correctly completed entry form by the entry closing date. Any rider failing to submit an entry together with the correct payment by the entry closing date will be deemed to have declined the invitation to compete. BEF reserve the right to cancel or change the venue of the final.
