Staffordshire's Joe Davison Victorious in Belgium with TEAM TRETORN

TEAM TRETORN VICTORIOUS IN BONHEIDEN, BELGIUM

The British Young Rider team (twenty one years and under) sponsored by Tretorn took first place in their first Nations Cup of the season which took place in Bonheiden, Belgium yesterday.

With each of the horses out there competing on their  first Nations Cup it was an incredible performance that each of the team put in taking first place with two fences in hand from USA who came second and the Dutch team who finished third.

The Tretorn Young Rider team consisted of Surrey’s Max Routledge on Typhoon S who jumped for five faults in the first round and just a time fault in an otherwise foot perfect second round. Scotland’s Lucy Guild on Tit D’Oase put in the performance of the team with a resounding double clear followed by Staffordshire Joe Davison on Egano Star who incurred four faults in each round. The fourth member of the team was Hertfordshire’s Abbie Squires with Enrique who incurred just four faults in the first round and an unfortunate twelve faults in the second round.
Sunday saw the Young Riders Grand Prix take place. Lucy Guild riding Tit D’Oase was the only British rider to jump clear in the first round, being one of six combinations making it though to the jump off. Although Lucy had one fence down she put in a very quick time and with only one clear from Sjaak Sleiderink riding Bmc Laksha de Breve from the Netherlands Lucy picked up second place.
